This was to be the farewell concert for Michael Segaud and his playing of the Summer movement of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons showed what a splendid musician Michael is and how much he will be missed. Rutter’s Spring of Thyme was such a joy – eleven folk songs which were well-known to most of the choir but in tricky arrangements. The Morten Lauridsen Lux Aeterna was new to most of us and is lush and melodic which suited the mood of the concert. A good send-off to Michael!
