This programme included old favourites, Zadok and the Vivaldi Gloria and one unknown – this being the Dettingen Te Deum. The work has eighteen short solos and choruses mostly of a brilliant, martial character, the solo parts being divided between alto, baritone and bass. Stretching the choir to their limits
the work was a great success although again, a work not often performed and the rehearsals were certainly exciting!
The Gloria is just joyful from start to finish and the singers cannot help but move with the music!
