Musical Director – Ian Crawford

Ian1Ian Crawford joined the society as Musical Director in September 2015.

Ian is a choral director, composer, and teacher. He loves to write music for choirs of all ages, both amateur and professional, and is particularly passionate about encouraging young people to keep singing.

His music is published by Oxford University Press, Novello and Red Scarf Music.

Since 2015, Ian has been Musical Director of Cambiata North West, the Association of British Choral Directors (abcd)’s regional choir for boys whose voices are changing. A highly experienced choral animateur, Ian is regularly invited to lead workshops for choirs and choir leaders across the UK.

Recent performance highlights include Finzi’s In Terra Pax with Northern Chamber Orchestra and Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.
